Family
and Friends - Me and Charlie have added a new addition to our family.
His name is Mirko, he is approximately 1 year of age. I got him from a
rescue home in New York, Rescue for Love. I chose Mirko for 2
reasons. 1) He was minutes from being put down from a high death
rate shelter in Ohio and 2) He's sweet and kind and needs us as much as
we need him. If any of you are ever thinking of buying a dog,
please look at your local shelters first as there are so many dogs put
down and not even given a chance to have a good life. As you can see
from the picture Mirko needs to gain some weight. We are doing the best
to help him do this. (You know Charlie he's a walking garbage disposal).
This will take time and a lot of patience on my part and Charlie's.
Since Charlie has been loved from the first day he was put on this
earth. Not all dogs are as lucky as Charlie - so again if you know
of anyone who is looking to get a dog - take the time to go to Petfinder
or Rescue for Love. I thank all of you for your effort in anything
you can do. ~ Joy, Charlie, and Mirko

Miss
Tes is doing great!!! She is such a little love….
Although I’m sure she’s not going to be little for long.
She’s grown so much in the last week, I can’t believe it. She loves
going to work every day and visiting everyone’s offices – she’s
really adapted well. Thanks so much for all your help, not just
with Tes, but for all the other dogs you’ve placed as well. ~

Molly was adopted a year ago on May 11, 2008. She
was two years old at the time and came from an abusive situation.
For the first couple of months, she was a bit apprehensive,
particularly when lying on her bed. Once she realized
there would be no more abuse in her life, Molly became a very
happy dog full of fun and a bundle of energy. Molly
was my first adoptee since all of our previous dogs had been
purchased as puppies. I was concerned about
Molly's adjustment to her new home but I need not have been.
Since her very first day, she has never had an accident or been
destructive in any way. A really good dog who makes everyone
around her happy. My family and friends love her and
fuss over her. Molly loves to ride in the car and go to
the park. She is a delight and has brought great happiness
to us. I am thankful to you for rescuing Molly and even more
thankful for allowing me to adopt her. She is a bundle of
joy.

Wilson is the most affectionate, snuggly dog in the world. He is
still shy
of people and animals that he does not know, and afraid to pee in
the dark.
He spends hours everyday at grandma’s house running with Winnie
and Topsy, they are the three musketeers for sure. He loves to
drag Luke the cat around the house by his head! Luke actually
comes in and puts his head right in Wilson ’s mouth and waits
for a ride! We could not have asked for a better dog for our home,
he fits in just PERFECT.
THANK YOU SO
VERY MUCH!! ~ Tina & Stan

We
were so happy that Sofie (a.k.a. Precious) came into our lives on
4/7/09, a day that we will always remember! She is a
beautiful golden retriever/yellow lab mix, and has bonded
with our entire family - even our three cats whom she adores.
She came to us through this wonderful network of volunteers
that truly gave her a second chance on life. The best thing about
adopting this two year-old gal, was that we didn't have
to live through the housebreaking, crate training, or teething!
As a bonus, this bright gal already knew some basic commands.
With our busy schedule, this meant that we could spend
our time teaching Sofie the rules of the road and
cuddling her as much as possible. It has been such
a pleasure having her with us! Since she has joined our
family, she has gained a lot of confidence, has put on a few
much-needed pounds, and is absolutely thriving. Best of all,
she loves each and every one of us, and greets us with a
smile and many wags in the morning. Although she is about 45lbs,
she thinks that she is a lap dog and wants to cuddle when
we're not tossing her favorite toys. She loves her long
walks, and I have met more people in my neighborhood in the last
two months than I have in the last 10 years that we've lived here!
Indeed, she's made some great doggie friends, and has adjusted
incredibly well to her new home. Thank you so much to Kristi
and all the great folks who helped bring Sofie into our
lives!
