Bessie
(tri-colored beagle) was adopted on 5/10/08 and has become a wonderful
addition to our household. She is very sweet and inquisitive, has tons of
energy, and likes to go for long walks at the open land areas in North Salem.
Thanks for all the great work done by everyone at Rescue for Love.

We
are the Hernandez family and this is our love story about Tucker
our collie. We adopted Tucker from Rescue For Love on 6/8/08.
Tucker is a wonderful addition to our family. We could never
imagine our family without him. He brings such joy to all of us!!
At the pet show in our town, Tucker was voted 'The Best
Personality Collie'! Tucker has settled in and has met many of his
learning goals. He loves to be with us especially in the
livingroom in the evening. He watches over all of us...and we can
see the contentment in his eyes! He is home and he loves us as
much as we love him. He is our collector...he collects all he can
find (envelopes, remotes, and books) and takes them to a corner in
our kitchen! Tucker helps himself to food off the center island if
we don't secure edibles in the middle out of his reach. We are
learning as well as Tucker! It was love at first sight and a bond
for all! We wished for a collie and Rescue for Love made our wish
come true! A heartfelt thank you to Kristi and Gina.

My
husband Steve and I adopted Tashi in February 2008. Today, we could not
imagine life without him. He loves to go for long walks in the woods and
explore every smell and sound around him. He's affectionate, playful, and
just the absolute joy of our lives. We are so fortunate to have adopted such
a wonderful addition to our family. Our thanks to Rob & Kristi for making
this possible.

We
adopted Aurora in April 2008. I was having some difficulty calling her
A-roar-a and then we tried Rory (still to hard to say) So Bailey was
"born." She came to us as a very shy dog being from a litter of
alpha dogs. She has become our "alpha" dog and rules the roost (but
still loves our cats.) Bailey is a sweet dog and almost immediately was
housebroken, only requiring a week or two of being crated. She is working on
her command training and is very smart. She is a wonderful addition to our
family. We were looking for the "perfect" dog and she is working on
being "that perfect dog." Thank you for posting this sweetie on
your site in conjunction with Petfinder. ~ Sincerely, The Cook Family

Tucker loves the water!...one of the last warm days in
September, we took him to Sherwood Island in Westport, CT, with my
neighbor and her two kids. We've forced him into loving to swim in
the water....he would have never been a water dog in a million
years but he has become quite the swimmer! We have to keep a long
lead on him because he's not that smart when knowing his
boundaries in the water! Valerie has taken millions, no billions,
of pictures of this dog! He's quite the handsome dog!

Meet
Jimmy, our new red and white Siberian Husky that we adopted from Rescue For
Love. Jimmy was rescued from Mississippi where he was found wondering in a
field. When I first saw Jimmy, I knew he was the dog for us. I can remember
him coming to the front door of the Rescue For Love home when we came for our
first visit and how excited he was to see us. But first, he would have to
meet and get along with our one year old female Siberian Husky, named Nikki.
They bonded immediately and played together as if they had known each other
for years. I could not wait to bring Jimmy home. We returned that evening and
the adoption process was completed. We kept his rescue name because he seemed
to answer to it well. Jimmy loves to run in his new fenced in yard, chase
after squirrels, and wrestle with Nikki. He is a wonderful, sweet dog and
loves to give wet kisses when he wakes up in the morning, but don’t sleep
too long because he will let you know its time to wake up. He looks forward
to his daily walks. Not a walk goes by without a car slowing down or
stopping to see the pair strutting along side by side. We’re thankful each
day that we have Jimmy. Thank you Gina and Rescue For Love for saving him. ~ Lee & Mary

You’ll
be happy to know Casey is doing great! She has really become a part of our
family and is especially so attached to my husband, Rob. She loves to hang
out with us while we’re watching TV or when we take her to go swimming in
the lake during the summer or just play around at the nearby dog park. She
has settled into a routine nicely and this coming March 1, we will officially
have had her for one year! Boy, how time flies. We gave her a new bed for
Xmas as well as a big DOG BONE! It’s almost as big as she is. We’ve taken
her to 8 weeks of dog training classes but she seems to have a mind of her
own. She loves to chew on things. We’ve gone through at least 8 collars, 3
harnesses and about 6 dog beds now. She sleeps right in her bed at the foot
of our bed in our bedroom. She is a very playful girl and loves to give hugs
and kisses. We get so many compliments on just how loveable she is and how
she has the blackest and shiniest coat. We call her our “black stallion”
because she is so lean and shiny.

We
adopted Quincy (aka Achilles) at approx. 10 wks old, from Rescue for Love in
April 2008, after finding him on Petfinder. He is actually the brother of
Bailey (aka Aurora) also mentioned on the Rescue for Love website. He was
housetrained almost immediately & loves his crate. He knows when it's
bedtime & heads in there on his own every night and doesn't make a peep
until we open his crate the next morning. He made it through basic obedience,
and by no means is perfect, but he's a sweet boy that is a special part of
our family. He loves all people and other animals, except our 15 yr old cat
doesn't feel the same way, and Quincy loves to torture him any chance he gets
! He really looks after our kids and just loves to be around the family,
including rides in the car. He does have his "puppy nipping"
moments still but he'll be a year old on February 6th and I have to say he's
come a long way & is really starting to mellow out (thank goodness - we
had our doubts!) ~ The Estes Family, Sandy Hook, CT
