Our Dogs

The shelters that we rescue from have purebreds, mixes, pups and seniors that are in grave danger of being euthanized. If our Petfinder site does not currently have the dog you’re looking for, please fill out an application and specify the type of dog you would like to adopt. We will search our network of shelters to find the right match for you.

About Our Rescue

This rescue is dedicated to Poohbear, Sara, Tinker, Andy and all of the other homeless rescues that forever change the lives of families. These dogs give love even when they have received none, they give devotion even after being thrown away, they give companionship even after they were abused. A rescue dog is the most special of all dogs because they have walked alone and have felt hardships that most of us will likely never understand, and yet, are so willing to forgive and forget the past so that they can have a future. So many rescue dogs have touched the lives of so many, whether they became a search and rescue dog, a helper dog or a devoted member of our homes. We dedicate ourselves to helping homeless dogs and helping them find their way back into forever homes.

Rescue for Love is comprised of volunteers that recognize the value of animal life and desire to aid as many of those wonderful animals that are suffering in high kill shelters. We are common average working families that have dedicated our time and our love to helping as many dogs and puppies as we can to make it out of the cold cells they are held in to warm and loving homes. Millions of dogs are euthanized each year, while wonderful healthy purebreds, designer dogs, mixed breeds, pups and dogs are longing for a family to call their own again. Rescues and the adoptive homes recognize this epidemic and we can put a large dent in the euthanized dog population together by aiding those left behind on the streets, in shelters and those seized for abuse.

Mission Statement

The mission for Rescue for Love is to save, rehabilitate and adopt to loving approved home, wonderful dogs and puppies from high kill shelter. Along with dogs and puppies that are surrendered by their owners before they enter the shelter systems. It is our goal to save as many animals from horrific conditions, acts of cruelty, abandonment, senseless death and high kill shelters. We recognize that these animals have no voice of their own and have limited laws and organizations that step up on their behalf. Though we fully recognize that there are two sides of rescue - quantity and quality - we try to find the equal balance to save as many as we can but to do it with ethics and excellent moral judgment.

It is our goal to incorporate more volunteers into our fostering program, increase our awareness of cruelty of animals, educated about puppy mills and back yard breeders. Our hope is to have the community to be a part of our rescue with regards to volunteering time, money, items for the rescue animals and to engage the public to learn more about rescuing. Education is the key that we have stressed with each adoption with the hopes that they share their experience with our rescue with their friends and relatives.

Our mission is also to place wonderful family dogs and puppies, along with other animals we can bring into our rescue, in forever homes. We pay special attention to insuring that any animals that we place do not reenter the shelter system or surrendered to other organizations. There are over 4000 dogs and puppies euthanized per day and the number is growing, therefore it is our goal to place rehabilitated, medically treated, loving animals for life.
